Chen Liu, Melbourne, Victotian

Rating: 1 out of 5.

Very uncaring, refused forwarding reports to my wife's. GP because"he is only a GP and would not understand them". Also refused my initial request for a second opinion and only relented when I explained that we bad the right to a second opinion and would only come back to see her when another specialist was present. After completing her radiation course my wife developed breathing difficulties due to radiation damage which got so bad she had to be taken dy ambulance to our local emergency hospital where she was stabilised and transferred to the oncology ward at Peninsula Private hospital. I rang Dr.Liu, being the Dr. In charge, the next morning to tell her that my wife was taken to emergency the night before. Dr Liu said she would ring me back as soon as she had finished her morning rounds to find out what had happened. Dr. Liu never rang back. Our experience with Dr. Liu was so sad because we found the rest of the doctors and nurses at Peter Mac very caring and professional. There is much more to this awful experience but my wife has now passed away after 6 years of suffering from the terrible effects of the radiation treatment. Dr. Liu had told us that after 3 months my wife would start to pick up. That never happened. Personally after my wife's experience, I certainly would NEVER recommend Dr. Liu to anyone. Keith Davis

Heriot, 84 Bridge Rd, Richmond, Vic

Rating: 1 out of 5.

Do NOT go to this surgeon if you need to have a peritonectomy at Peter MacCallum Hospital. You need to be referred to NSW either St Georges (Prof D Morris) or RPA. Heriot puts Victorian lives at risk by leaving patients on waiting list for too long. Places financial considerations of Peter MacCallum above that of patient care.

Coren lang, Sunshine hospital, St albans, Vic

Rating: 1 out of 5.

Dr Coran Lang. Pain specialist. His bedside manner leaves alot to b desired. He has a condesending attitude. He can b cold, rude and belittling. He has actually yelled at me on numerous occasions. Im a patient suffering from fibromyalgia. I have for more than ten years now. I also suffer from depression. Not so much bcos of my illness but bcos of my treatment by this doctor and some of his piers as he has also slandered my name amongst them. It is a mix up with another patient as he has said i have sent nasty emails to the hospital. I dont even know what an email is. Do i tried to explain this on numerous occasions but he refused to listen. I also asked for copies of the emails but they have never been forthcoming. I am going to seek legal help as soon as im able to settle this matter. To ensure this never happens to another patient. According to everyone i meet. They all say im the kindest person they know and r so very shocked at the treatment ive received. Ive never met anyone like him in all my years. I would not recommend him as a pain specialist to someone who is in need of kindness and .compasion. i am happy to say there r others in his field who have had the training to deal with patients who need phycological help when dealing with severe pain and depression. Ive also been told not to bother the hospital again to seek pain relief after being admitted for a week. Ive since suffered chest pain but am 2 scared to go to hospital.

alla waldman, bankstown, nsw

Rating: 5 out of 5.

I was first treated by Doctor Waldman in the ED of Bankstown Hospital. That was May of 2017 following my first heart attack. 2 years later, I am still Dr Waldman's patient through a second heart attack and complications. I am lucky to have Alla as my cardiologist. She monitors my medications and worked hard to get me on to Repatha (a cholesterol lowering medication) that is working very well. She is accessible if I need her, supportive, and always goes the extra mile for me. Thank you.

Okpe John, Reliance West Gosford, West Gosford, NSW

Rating: 1 out of 5.

I had a terrible experience with him too. Got mad at me when I asked simple questions (sighing and saying stuff like "I already told you") and got incredibly defensive when I was just trying to give more detail on my symptoms. I felt that he really didn't know what he was talking about as I went to another doctor the day after who diagnosed me correctly (after only 3 mins, as he actually allowed me to go into more detail) and gave me the correct medication and fixed my issue within in a couple of days. I felt like he (John) was just trying to get rid of me as soon as possible. No idea why I would pay for that kind of service.

At that point i was scared as i had no idea about my illness. I was told they did not know but i discovered over time that they did. He left me histerical as i had no family to support me at the time i wanted to leave the hospital then and there but i didnt want to look guilty of his false accusations. . Ive since suffered chest pain on a three occasions but am 2 scared to go to hospital.

I went to him with facial oedema, he prescribed one steroid tablet. He obviously has no idea how the lymphatic system works and I’ve had to work it out for myself. Had I not done so, the effects could have been fatal with breast cancer I managed on my own. He didn’t like my cholesterol levels of 7.3 and amended my driving licence to show I had a reviewable medical condition. I refused statins which he didn’t like. He told me to not eat pork, chicken skin and lay off the salt! On ringing the medical unit of the state dept of transport they burst out laughing at his reaction and I was able to get my licence fully restored. Some years ago I spoke to a since retired doctor at the same practice about an itching on my chest that was prolonged and he said it was insect bites. A check up 2 years later at a skin cancer clinic in Cairns diagnosed a basal cell carcinoma. I do not go there anymore.

Kevin Hung, Bundaberg, Queensland

Rating: 1 out of 5.

Rudest, most condescending ill mannered doctor I’ve ever come across. Reduced me to tears seconds before my colonoscopy with his abuse and telling me It’s a waste of his time. I had to ask for another doctor as I was not comfortable being put to sleep with him in charge of my care after his lack of care, empathy and abuse. I never wish to lay eyes on him again. The nurses and anethatists were amazing but nobody should be told they are wasting someone’s time and why are you here right before a procedure. It’s not like I wanted to have a colonoscopy!!! Who the hell would want to? I was following my doctors and specialists instructions. Apparently they don’t have a clue in his eyes either. Was the worst experience I’ve ever had. Extremely upsetting and I don’t wish to go back to the Bundaberg base hospital again unfortunately. It’s the second time in 5 days I’ve been treated terribly by doctors. I have a very thick skin but this man really upset me and showed no compassion or care. I wish I could rate a zero but it won’t let me.
