martyn howells, ribble street
I've had many GP's over the years and Dr Martyn Howells is one of the best two. Working at Whitestone Family practice in Oamaru there was nothing that ever phased him and his 'bedside' manner whether dealing with me, my wife or my mother in law (who loved him to bits) was amazing. Talk about put you at ease. He retired this year and will be sorely missed.

Andrew Hilliard, Christchurch, Cantebury
Dr Hilliard saw me on behalf of ACC. He was unable to identify my condition and rudely (in his report) disbelieving of what I said. Subsequent Reports from my GP (this one scathing), two specialists and another occupational physician, all in agreement, overturned the decision ACC made based on Dr Hilliard. I feel he is either evil or incompetent.

I have to agree, I had him for two of my occupational review reports, and it wasn't until a long time after he wrote mine that I saw complete lies. He omitted important medical facts I had expressed to him, thinking they were important, yet failed to record this information, which is not best practice. He did not document obvious and significant findings - such as very poor balance on the physical exam, regular falls at home, difficulty breathing and sternum pushing out the front of my chest wall- clear findings any doctor or nurse would pick up on a basic visual observation. His lies that are all through my reports - have seen me kick off my weekly payments, I had to pay for my tests to prove something significantly wrong, but other practitioners read these reports. Every other doctor who reads these significant health histories and findings believes them. My notes are complete shambles; nothing makes sense, and no one clearly understands my case. This kind of thing, committing crucial medical information, is dangerous. For a doctor to take the Hippocratic oath - yet worry more about money than patients' well-being and safety is BS I call this guy out and the rest of them. Shame on you - all of you who pl have forgotten why you wanted to become a Dr in the first place. Sad money is more important than fellow human beings or doing what's right

Dishonest and not respectable, should not be practicing. Neglected a teen resulting in death, ending up in stuff.co.nz with family complaining about their sons death and neglect by this "professional". Not held accountable. Would NOT recommend
