Philip Kempf, N George Mason, Arlington, VA

Rating: 1 out of 5.

No automated record keeping. Very poor patient interaction. Doesn’t tell truth about test results when asked for them and NEVER volunteers test results. Dropped an 18 year patient who had monthly infusions (very costly) for 15 years. CAUSE: Patient would not show Medicare card and Blue Cross card every time they had a monthly infusion. If you want a Dr who does not care about YOU he is your guy.

Nicole Zucconi, 3 Elizabeth Avenue, Millville, NJ, 08332

Rating: 1 out of 5.

I started going to Dr zucconi four years ago. Because I wasn't sick for three years and I'm not letting the Inspira group she belongs to take care of my hypothyroidism she has refused to treat me as her patient. She has bounced me around to practitioners, residents, and even students. Her Associates are horrible. They don't listen to what you're telling them. I went there in early September because I am experiencing low-grade fevers since the end of August. Needless to say it is now the end of October and I am still suffering from the same low-grade fevers that's Spike up into the 100° point. They bad-mouth doctors who are not in the Inspira Health Network. The last doctor that I saw was David Alderholt. He did nothing but bad mouth my thyroid specialist. Tried to get me to take a prescription of higher Levothyroxine than what my endocrinologist has me on. I reported the behavior to the office and also to my endocrinologist who by the way comes highly recommended and has very high ratings on the internet. Apparently, they're mad at me because of the report so they told my insurance company that a fracture that I acquired during my vacation in August happened in my work instead of my home. I think they did that on purpose to have my insurance bounce out my claim. I had to go through the legal department of Blue Cross and Blue Shield to get the case closed. Thank God I was on a two-week vacation during the time that the incident happened. I would not recommend any doctor that belongs to the Inspira Health Network because apparently they bad-mouth any doctor or specialist that does not belong to their group.

John Windom, 64, a retired Navy officer, Washington

Rating: 1 out of 5.

Another Lenka Stankova hurting the war fighters. John Windom, 64, a retired Navy officer, was charged with making false statements, concealment of material facts and falsification of a record or document tied to a failure to report more than $15,000 in cash, casino chips and other gifts from contractors. The Justice Department announced the charges on Wednesday, accusing him of “accepting, and sometimes demanding, extravagant gifts from a group of contractors and subcontractors who worked on the project he was overseeing.” As the indictment notes, Windom was aware of the rules regarding reporting gifts and receipts, per training for officials. “An indictment is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law,” the Justice Department said in its release. In 2018, the 10-year contract was awarded to Cerner (now known as Oracle Health after Oracle acquired it). Windom was appointed as Executive Director of the Office of Electronic Record Modernization in 2017 and helped supervise the VA’s choice of Cerner for the contract. According to the grand jury indictment against him, Windom used his position to take money and gifts from a group of business executives from information technology and consulting companies who were contractors on the project. According to the indictment, Windom allegedly called them “the Power Group.” Windom used his role to “encourage, monitor, and facilitate contract and subcontracting opportunities for members of the Power Group, related and unrelated to the EHRM project.” Windom was allegedly given payment in everything from cash, to $8,200 in Louis Vuitton gift cards and $1,800 in casino chips. He was also given a High Efficiency Particulate Air, or HEPA, filter worth $631. The indictment also accuses Windom of using his position to “coerce” payments and gifts from others. Per the indictment, Windom “repeatedly reminded Power Group members to remain loyal and directed them to maintain confidentiality and their relationship with him.” In one message at the start of 2020, Windom messaged Power Group members, telling them that “loose lips sink ships.” Windom’s initial contract was extended, and in 2022 he was reassigned to serve as deputy director of the Federal electronic Health Modernization Office, a joint VA and Department of Defense project. Nine years after the modernization effort started, the Electronic Health Record program is used by only a handful of VA sites, with the program hit by glitches and usability issues. The VA paused the program in 2023, but is expected to roll out at several sites this year. Windom faces a maximum sentence of over 20 years in prison if convicted on all counts. Keith Mulki, 1890 Silver Cross Blvd., New Lenox, IL, 60451

Rating: 2 out of 5.

Dr. Mulki is a very competent doctor. His office/billing staff is HORRENDOUS, so I cannot recommend his practice. More than a YEAR after I started treatment for a Workman's Comp case, I was told they had NO IDEA it was Workman's Comp, so it was all MY responsibility and it was going into collections. I had responded to ALL bills with the COMPETE workman's compensation paperwork, made special visits to the Dr's office to give them updated codes and so forth, and they (suddenly!) said I had never done ANY of that. Thankfully I work for a government agency, so I can pass this onto them and they WILL sort it out, but I'd steer clear of this office until enough reviews show that they've gotten their act together!
