Nasty illegally touching patients that are under stress and then threatens them

Terrible experience!! Both the Doctor and the receptionist (who I believe is Dr. Aronowitz’s wife) show absolutely no compassion, are rude and incredibly cheap. I was desperate to get my teenage child to see a Psychiatrist because they were having sudden uncharacteristic and very scary symptoms their senior year of high school. I quickly learned it is very difficult to find these services in the North Country. They agreed to see my child but made it clear I had to pay $350.00 by cash or credit card on the spot and they would not handle any insurance. I was told I could submit the receipt myself and try to get reimbursed but my usually excellent insurance said the prices were over double what is considered reasonable and customary and reimbursed less than half. Subsequently Dr. Aronowitz scheduled 15 minute visits ( which were usually about 10 min) every 2 weeks for a continued period of time. He refused to prescribe meds for any longer period of time so I had to keep going back. Eventually he let him come once a month for a while. Each of those short visits cost $150.00 and most of the time he kept the meds exactly the same. My child, who was just starting college, accidentally missed one of those 15 minute appointments. When we came back for the next appointment we were told we had to pay the entire $150.00 for the missed appointment plus another $150.00 for the new one. I told my child to ask the doctor if he could work out a payment plan to pay off the $150.00 from the missed appointment and the doctor said “No, I’m not in the business of lending money - make your mom pay and you can work out a plan with her.” This was a college student and it was the first missed appointment! Any dealings I had with either the receptionist or the doctor were horrible- they are both extremely rude and extremely greedy people, obviously only in it for the money. The Dr. has absolutely no bedside mannner and definitely had no warmth to his personality whatsoever. He comes across as very arrogant and uncaring for sure. If you can go to anyone else please do. I was in a desperate situation but they both lack any compassion or decency and I would go anywhere else if you are able. Wish I could give zero points!

Nice n caring physician who helped me until my car broke down for 8 weeks and I was hurting in my neck and spine tremendously and was calling. N. He never got on the phone n on the day of my appointment by. Phone. The nurse said that I had to be there for a med count. I had no. Way. But I have a car now. But the nurse. Ashley sd. We are dismissing you bcuz you didn't show up after I told her that I could not walk. N. Had. No way there. Earlier that morning. Well. I thought my dr was going to get on the phone. my appt was at. 2.40 PM. Instead. Ashley a nurse sd. good luck with your car shopping and the bank. Good luck with your life. I was shocked when she said that. n. My older brother had just came by then. To hear what was said over the phone and he said that was crazy. Yes it was n. Mean. I'm disabled due to back problems and neck problems 5 bulging discs and deg disc disease and rheumatoid arthritis and Fibromyalgia. N. Sciatica nerve problems are around a disc. Got. No. Referral to a specialist or any other medical professional advice from them. Just. Good luck with your life and I said thank you. I have been told to call the AMA. N. Medical board on this type of treatment. But before that. He said he knew that I hurt. He. Had the. New. MRI. N. I only met him once and the other appt was by phone bcuz of covid. I have called back wanting to see my. Discharged paperwork and sd. The truth is I. Had. No. Car. Etc. But I never received any thing from them. He was caring. While he was operating n. Opening a. New office. Daniel McCollum even tod me over the phone how great they are. He owned the lab with this dr office and after they. Helped me 5 x. N. My. Car broke down and I had no way. N. Cut my med. In. Half. Too. It was like ok. We are establishing new patients and partners again and we have enough to say. Bye to you. Lady. That's exactly what it feels like. 2* bcuz at 1st he was caring and in a few weeks after that he was not able to get on the phone and talk to me about my condition and my health problems so. I’ve been seeing Dr. Shumaker for about 5 years and he’s the only Dr that has gone to bat for me. He hasn’t stopped in trying to find a solution for my back pain. I would recommend him to anyone that needs a great Dr on their side.

Ryan Meis did a total knee replacement on me and he did a very good job. Small scar from surgery. He is a very caring doctor.

I wouldn't recommend this Doctor to any one in any circumstances. Very bad interpersonal skills doesn't remember things after surgery was completed and lacking follow through. Quit without a care of the patient health or aftercare.
