Ms. McGarrity, 65street 11 avenue is 187

Rating: 1 out of 5.

Ms. McGarrity is a horrible person. With no actual reasonable actions, I believe she should be punished in a justified manner. Ms. McGarrity doesn't understand anything each of her students says, which limits our freedoms and our rights in her classroom. Along with that, Ms. McGarrity is horrible with instructions. This is a horrible combination, making it that we have no freedom at all. We are stuck in her class, learning all these subjects, even though YouTube could end her career. So many times, we have explained plenty of things to her, and yet, every time this happens, we get yelled at, screamed at. Even when we did nothing wrong and it was her complete fault, she doesn't understand, she just doesn't care about our thoughts. No child should be able to have to face such an abomination. Nobody wants to have to be taught by an overgrown BigMac. This should not be part of the education system. There should be something about her, so that the future generations, do not suffer the same fate.

Literally does not understand how tedious and annoying the work she gives us is. Once she made us delete every email in our inbox, and kids had over 3,000 email piled up. AND they were supposed to finish it the same day. She is zero understanding of her students, and barely any about tech. She posts things about "awareness" and bullying but isn't aware that she's bullying her own students. How is she not fired yet

She pretty much bullied me a few years ago when I was in middle school. I am in college now. I reported her to Mr. Berman but nothing was really done. It's funny how she just absolutely rips apart an 11 year old kid for simply writing an email slightly wrong (as if an 11 year old kid knows how to write professional emails). I have forgiven her in my heart but I still want to make this statement. No teacher in my life has caused the amount of psychological suffering that she has inflicted onto me. She tries to have fun and tell stories or be relatable and I appreciate it but she's a terrible teacher. She doesn't understand that we need more than just basic instructions. She runs through things like we should already know what to do and her instructions are vague. I'm always scared to email her or do anything wrong, infact, me and my friends have a dm in discord where we ask each other what to do and figure out different parts so we don't have to ask her for help or anything like that. She's unreasonable and forces work on us like we don't have other classes to worry about. She claims to dislike homework yet gives us so much confusing work that we're forced to do it as homework. When one of us have to write an email to her, we ask each other if it's correct. Hell, we're scared if we didn't hit enter enough times! She doesn't even understand tech issues, and she's the tech teacher! She should be grateful for the 1 point I gave her because that's already being generous considering how terrible she is. And I'm sure that any student that has her shares my sentiment. So fellow suffering students who are reading through reviews of her, imagine having her as your homeroom teacher. Yeah, it's closer to hell than lil nas x and that's saying ***.

Ms. McGarrity, I.S. 187, Brooklyn, NY, 11219

Rating: 2 out of 5.

She expects students to understand every instruction she gives, and only regrades assignments for 6th graders only. Yes, 7th and 8th graders need less help, but they still need assistance. One time, she changed the due date to an earlier time and expected students to turn in the assignment at that specific time. When students told her that there were some technological issues and the assignment was turned in a bit later, she commented back: “LOL. You procrastinated. If I had made the due date 6:00, you would’ve told me at 6:01.” You would’ve thought that as a tech teacher, she would be most understanding about tech issues. But no.... Students are afraid to ask her questions to clarify because of her attitudes. Many students dread going to her classes. What should I say? “LOL”?
