Kid Who Rated Ms. Julian 5/5, Mendon High

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Exactly, it's very ironic to claim that "in the case of blacks, violence and crime is a valid and accurate stereotype," then *falsely* accuse you of calling entire ethnicities and races "bigots"--which would obviously be r*cist. This is absurd. The person is a r*cist projecting their prejudice onto you.

Firstly, I'd love to see where all these statistics come from because I've never heard them. Secondly, I really am not sure where you're coming from when you say I'm "claiming that all Americans, Canadians, Russians, Chinese, Vietnamese, Koreans, Thai, etc are all bigots." How am I claiming that?

Hi, there. Your first sentence makes a valid point. Then, I believe your review demonstrates misconceptions. Do you truly think that black people "don't like each other" and that they have been shooting each other "since the beginning of time?" These statements perpetrate the harmful stereotype that black folks are incapable, are violent, are inherently evil.

She needs to figure out who this kid is and lock his up before he hurts someone.

Her cell phone policy allows the school to give kids a mental health referrals (for “addiction”) if teachers catch them using their phones at the wrong time. This policy normalizes “mental illness” and “addiction” to an extent that the terms lose their meaning, undermining the trauma of students who have experience with genuine mental illness and/or addiction. She also claims to care about racial justice. At assemblies, she warns that Mendon does not tolerate racism. However, her history of silencing victims of racism reveals…something else. She is not helping students of color to feel safe at school, which is a major problem in a district where a student threatened to shoot people—simply due to their black skin.

I'm grateful for the Principal's Advisory Committee you added to increase student voice in our school's policy. However, please stop censoring school newspapers when a journalist brings up racism in our school. This action seems incredibly ironic from a former English teacher, someone who knows the value of students genuinely expressing themselves. Do not forget your values.

She has handled the pandemic extremely well, encouraging kids to remain as involved as they can while staying safe. However, it is alarming that she has silenced multiple students on the racism they experienced at Mendon. The other review about her on this site is hateful and nonsensical.
